Listen, love is truly the answer to everything -- but not the kind of love that our society usually talks about.
The first line to that Beatles' song has been running through my head.
"All you need is love . . . All you need is love"
If you don't know what to do in a situation, love.
When a person makes you so angry you want to spit, love.
When you are in despair, love.
When you are confused, love.
When you hurt, love.
Love, love, love.
The verse I quoted above is about the woman who came to Simon the Pharisee's house. She showed Jesus love. Simon didn't.
The two things (and maybe they are the same thing) that Jesus had against the pharisees are: love and pride. They condemned others rather than showing them love and the way to truth.
We religious people often do the same thing today. God cleans us all up and then we forget where we came from. When we forget we start getting hollow inside -- just white washed tombs. Then, how can God use us? Love and forgive. Don't forget how Jesus saved you.
