worn out nurturer.
2. When a simple request as in "Can you help me wash my hair?" feels like saving the planet . . . again, you might be a worn out
nurturer.
3. When you wish you could jump into a bath of strong black coffee, you might be a worn out nurturer.
4. When you absolutely detest mice but pretend one isn't there when it is running around your house being chased by your cat, you might be a worn out nurturer.
5. When you dread your kids getting up because you just don't have the energy to figure out what to give them for breakfast, you might be a worn out nurtuer.
6. When you honestly feel that living in a cell alone with nothing but a book sounds like heaven, you might be a worn out nurturer.
7. When you hope desperately that this is the day Jesus comes back so you don't have to bother with dishes or supper, you
might be a worn out nurturer.
8. When you know there are zillions of other signs that could be listed but cannot think of one more, you might be a worn out nurturer.
9. When the picture above looks like what you feel on the inside, you might be a worn out nurturer (or very sick).
So what can we worn out nurturers do (besides scream and cry and throw things)? I have only one answer. Here it is:
"Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you SHALL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. For My yoke is easy, and My load is light."
Matthew 11:28-30
How does that help? Use it as a prayer like this:
Jesus, I am coming to you right now. I am weary and heavy-laden. Please give me rest. Help me take your yoke. Lift this load. Exchange it for your light load. Help me Lord. Thank you.
Then just wait. He will answer and bring about rest for you.
That's what I'm going to do today.
