Using the Word of God as the offensive weapon it is.
If you're a Believer and aren't actively using the Word of God as a weapon in your life you are having a much harder time than you need to be having.
Hebrews 4:12 says God's Word is living and active.
John 1 says Jesus is God's Word.
Isaiah 55:11 says God's Word won't come back empty. That verse is so good I gotta quote the whole thing:
"So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth;
It will not return to Me empty,
Without accomplishing what I desire,
And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it."
God's word isn't like a person's word. God's word is reality once it is spoken -- we just don't see its results right away in our seen realm.
Believer, get to know the Word and practice using it. Claim the Word -- that word "Claim" has a bad rap. People throw that phrase out "name it and claim it" like it is a yucky thing. But there is truth in it. You can rest on God's Word and His promises in His word.
He is not a genie or Santa Claus.
He is not a person in a way you and I are. We cannot expect Him to do our bidding.
But we can hold onto His Word no matter what we are facing, no matter how bad it looks, because His word is more sure than anything.
If God has said it, He meant it.
"What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?" Romans 8:31
And here is the next verse in The Message:
"If God didn’t hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and exposing himself to the worst by sending his own Son, is there anything else he wouldn’t gladly and freely do for us?"
But we gotta Believe. We gotta give God time to act. We gotta hold on and believe and not give in to fear.
"And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him." Hebrews 11:6
