So hey, have you figured out how to read your Bible daily yet? How you are going to do it? Even if you are a smart person and have high morals you need some guidance in this world of pitfalls. Even though we don't know it, everything we're exposed to as far as media (print, TV, radio, internet, movies, computer games...and whatever else falls into that category) works on your brain for better or worse. We are what we ingest We will become whatever we feed our brains. What we ingest mentally and emotionally (for the brain is the most emotional organ we have) will transform our brains. We can begin to be immune to violence or real beauty or truth or even our love for others if we let negative stuff start working on those neurons. At anytime we can start a new path mentally. Just like a new eating plan, we can start afresh right now on what we expose our brains to -- the Bible is a great place to get real nourishment for our brains. To know the ways the Word can change you read Psalm 119. The first eight verses say:
"You’re blessed when you stay on course,
walking steadily on the road revealed by God.
You’re blessed when you follow his directions,
doing your best to find him.
That’s right—you don’t go off on your own;
you walk straight along the road he set.
You, God, prescribed the right way to live;
now you expect us to live it.
Oh, that my steps might be steady,
keeping to the course you set;
Then I’d never have any regrets
in comparing my life with your counsel.
I thank you for speaking straight from your heart;
I learn the pattern of your righteous ways.
I’m going to do what you tell me to do;
don’t ever walk off and leave me."
Told you there'd be a tangent. Well, here are the silly photos I wanted to share with you (the ones I shared on Facebook already). I took them over the weekend with my phone that isn't smart (poor thing). I hope they make you chuckle!
