1 Chronicles 21:17b
David took a census he wasn't supposed to. He was even warned not to do it by people under him. The consequences of this sin was felt by all of Israel, everyone under King David.
This almost frightens me, at least sobers me. What I do affects those under me, my children, and those who are touched by my life. What I do affects my community, my church, those who watch me. So, if I choose to sin then these consequences will be felt by many. They might not know why things are happening as they are but I will know. Even if we think we have a sin that doesn't affect anyone but ourselves we are deceived.
Everyone is connected. We must choose wisely how we live out our lives.
