When we have a problem, when we suddenly are faced with the unknown that might forever change our lives God is there.
"When he puts forth all his own, he goes before them" John 10:4a
We have a new unknown we are facing in our family. It might not be much of anything, or it might totally change the way we are living. It came along suddenly as these kinds of things do.
But whatever the outcome God is already there. He has gone before us and will lead us through.
What a promise we have. What a resource we have within us if we've asked Jesus to be part of our lives. His Spirit lives within us and He will navigate through scary places if we let Him. We just need to keep focused on Him and not on the scary stuff around us.
God is often portrayed as a lion. C.S. Lewis forever gave us Aslan, His Narnia Character who represents Jesus.
I also think of the characters from Disney's The Lion King. There are good and bad lions.
Peter calls Satan in 1 Peter 5:8 a "roaring lion seeking someone to devour."
He devours with fear and intimidation....
But God is a whole lot stronger.
Newsboys have a long called "God's Not Dead."
They chorus from this song has been going through my mind this morning. Check it out on YouTube if you've never heard it. I've linked it there.
Here are the words from the chorus:
My God's not dead, He's surely alive
He's living on the inside, roaring like a lion
My God's not dead, He's surely alive
He's living on the inside, roaring like a lion
Roaring. He's roaring. He's roaring like a lion.
Don't let yourself be consumed by fear when the sudden happens. Don't let yourself be swallowed up by a situation that seeks to intimidate you.
Our God is bigger.
Our God is stronger.
Our God is mightier than anything, absolutely anything that comes our way.
