I can't imagine that they were.
So why did they wear them?
Because they chose to be runway models, and as runway models they have to wear what the designers put on them.
It doesn't matter if it is uncomfortable. I remember hearing Tyra Banks talk about all the years she was a runway model. Several times the shoes she had to wear were three sizes too small or too big. And the clothes had to be pinned and tucked and ....well, it couldn't have been comfortable. But she did it.
That's kind of how I feel sometimes in the roles God puts me in.
There are times that we will be other people's trials or challenges.
There are times that God will convict through us and we'll see it.
There are times that God will use us to speak to someone else in ways they don't want to hear.
There are times that we will make others uncomfortable, not by anything we do or say -- just by being ourselves.
A very good way to approach this kind of role is reluctantly. The best words are ones that don't need to be spoken. Just you being there is enough.
It's mighty uncomfortable though.
If you are in this role, Don't interfere. Don't try to lessen what He's doing. Just love, love, love and leave it all to God.
But it isn't fun.
"Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth . . . And so, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. And beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity." Colossians 3:2, 12-14
