I'm taking part in a study right now that requires me to read Romans 4 twenty times throughout the six week study. I've read it eight times so far. It's a wordy chapter. If Paul had written it today an editor would probably slash half of the stuff, but this is God's inspired word. God must have wanted the wordiness. Maybe it's because what is repeated over and over in the chapter is that real belief, the faith that moves mountain, the kind of belief that believes no matter what, is what makes us righteous in God's eyes.
Unbelief weakens us spiritually. Belief strengthens us. You gotta use your belief muscles for them to get bigger and stronger. Verse 20 says, Abraham "did not waver in unbelief, but grew strong in faith, giving glory to God."
This kind of belief isn't common in God's people. Often we believe enough to become Christians but then we try to live out the Christian life on our own. We say we are believing but we're using our own strength rather than Christ's.
It thrills our Great God when His kids choose to belief no matter what. It makes Him happy!
I choose to believe no matter what.
It isn't easy.
This is the stuff that spiritual giants take part in.
We all can do it.
If you're a believer, God wants you to be a believer who believes in Him no matter what. He'll help you.
It is His will for you right now.
