It's important we look at the whole story and not bail when part of it makes us panic or get angry.
This morning I picked up a book my seven year old wrote. The first page says something about my mom is a "wich."
I have to tell you I was a bit angry because the other stuff on the page looked even worse than that. I wondered what had caused her to write such negative junk.
Then I reread it and realized I had missed the first sentence, "It's Halloween."
This totally changed the feel of the whole story! I realized my irritation was misplaced, my confusion was silly -- all because I hadn't looked at the whole story!
We can do the same thing with God and His plan. Let's say you're waiting on Him for something and time ticks by day after day. Then, the time when it appears you really need Him to come through He doesn't so you bail. You give up and figure it out on your own.
What if you'd waited just a bit longer? What if you told yourself, No, I'm going to keep believing! My God will show up. He has a plan and He is never late.
You might see a real miracle.
But if you don't wait long enough you might just cause a whole bunch more problems and your faith falters rather than deepens.
Look at the whole picture when it comes to God. Take your eyes off the circumstances and remember how Faithful God is.
He'll come through. Give Him time.
