These are the words of Rahab the Canaanite Prostitute. I am going to share some words with you from A Mile in Her Shoes: Lessons from the lives of old testament Woman by Sheron C. Patterson.
Patterson writes, "Before our very eyes, Rahab is transformed from the harlot of the city to a believer in Yahweh. . . Even though Rahab worked in one of the vilest of occupations, she still saw the awesomeness of God. Even though she was a social outcast, she still figured out a way to rescue two of God's people. Even though life placed her on the bottom rung of society's ladder, she still declared the goodness of God.
"The moment Rahab articulated her belief in God, her entire situation changed.
"Rahab's life illustrates that God moves even in bleak, unsavory situations; and God uses and blesses whomever God" chooses to.
Patterson has a great ministry. Her website can be found at http://www.drsheron.com/.
She is a writer, a pastor, a relationship expert and counselor and shares her advice on radio and in nationally published magazines.
