Often it happens when we think too much, we imagine what could happen, we focus on the "Oh No!" possibility.
God gives us a cure for stress.
Psalm 90:12 says, "So teach us to number our days, That we may present to Thee a heart of wisdom."
Yep. That's it.
If we give our day to God every morning, and continue to do this throughout the day with any worry that might crop up or pettiness (or anything that wants to suck us in and get us focused on it instead of God) will disappear.
The verse is a prayer.
The verse is a reminder.
The verse will center us when we've got off track.
Everything in this life wants our attention. Everything on social media is like a little kid saying, "Look at me! Look at me!"
When our own children ask us to watch them it can be delightful. When the stuff of this world wants us to watch it it can be devastating, distracting, discouraging, even dooming.
We aren't to have blinders on but if we look at everything through the lens of God the stuff won't overwhelm us.
Okay, this is kind of related but just came up and it is important to all of us so I will include it. We adults need to make sure we grow emotionally. We have the responsibility to get past the emotional juvenile tendencies of our world, of our society and be who God has called us to be emotionally. If you use scripture to respond to life this emotionally deepening will happen. And when it does you will feel free.
