"They are always looking toward the Promised Land but seem to end up wandering around the same mountains their entire life, dealing with the same problems, having the same issues." Joyce Meyer
Lord, is this me? It seems we are always dealing with $ issues, our place looking junky. Lord, is my attitude holding us back?
"So teach us to number our days, That we may present to Thee a heart of wisdom." Psalm 90:12
"And let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us; And do confirm for us the work of our hands; Yes, confirm the work of our hands." Psalm 90:17
"Because he has loved Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him securely on high, because he has known My name. He will call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him, and honor him." Psalm 91:14-15
Oh Lord, what am I missing? What do you want to say to me? Or, what are you trying to say to me that I am not hearing?
The next series of quotes are from an article called 5 Truths about God's will written by Daniel Kolenda:
"many people are desperately seeking God's will for their lives, the reality is that often what they are looking for is right under their nose -- but they continue to look for it because they don't recognize it . . . settling for less than God's best is often the easy road . . ;. God has always chosen ordinary people to do extraordinary things . . . Every one of them was called to be part of something much bigger than themselves . . . don't make the mistake of thinking even for a moment that because you don't know today what God's will is for your life you are not making progress. Something is happening right now. Your faith is stretched, your patience tried and your doubts confronted."
Kolenda shares five steps he calls "Common stages of transition in ministry." I will list them here (these are from the same article):
1. Birth of the Vision
2. Preparation ("a time of being prepared to pursue the vision. This is the stage where most of God's dreams for people are aborted because they refuse to do the necessary work.")
3. The wilderness and struggle
4. Realization of the Vision
5. New beginning and Vision
