We Believers need to talk about God and all our blessings or we get stagnant and hollow. The more we talk about Jesus the more we have to say about Him.
I'm sitting here at my table feeling kind of empty. I don't really have anything to write, and when you're a writer with nothing to write you're not in a good place. I started thinking what I was missing. I'm missing my friends -- the friends who love to talk about Jesus and who share stories with me. We all need that. I used to have a friend named Sue. She went to heaven a few years back. She'd come visit about once a week and we'd just talk about Jesus and life. We'd drink coffee. We'd laugh. We'd cry. I don't know if her visits meant as much to her as they did to me, but she is missed.
So, I will talk to you out there about some of the things God is doing in my life right now.
He's healing me (but you can sure pray about this for me). I've got this problem with a bladder that needs to be lifted inside me. It can get mighty uncomfortable, but sometimes it is okay. I hope to have surgery this summer to correct this, but until then I've asked God to put it where it needs to be.
I see God working in my children and I am thankful. There have been transformations and maturing that can only come through Christ Jesus.
I finished my script and sent it off to a few people. No matter what happens with it it was a good thing to do. First, because the story was filling my mind and I had to get it on paper. Otherwise, that's all I thought about it. Second, I learned how to write a screenplay with all its specific formats and such. Maybe I'll write another one day.
My garden is looking good. This is despite the fact that our area is in a drought (we still need rain and we need prayers for this). My tomato plants have tiny fruit on them. And I have some gorgeous flowers in my garden I forgot I planted.
Shannon got a lot of work in June with teaching summer school so his paycheck was bigger and we were able to get caught up on some bills. Thank you Jesus for that!
Our vehicles are running well. They all are older vehicles.
My cupboards are filled with food.
Presently, when I read the Word I don't get much but it is medicine to the soul even when you can't tell it is doing anything. I read with Hawk and I read by myself. Even in dry times you just gotta keep reading. The Word is always alive and always working within the One who reads (or hears) it.
"For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, And do not return there without watering the earth, And making it bear and sprout, And furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater; So shall My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it." Isaiah 55:10-11
This is always true!
Let God's word work in your life. You gotta read it for it to work though. You gotta expose yourself to the word daily. Please do this. This is how we grow spiritually.
