God doesn't look at time as we do. Time is a tool in His hands. Most things God calls us to do take lots of time, sometimes decades of time to finish. We like it when things are quick, exciting and full of adventure. This often doesn't fit with how God does things.
I quoted a verse from Hosea. In the first chapter God speaks to Hosea several times. It takes us just a few minutes to read this chapter, and so we may not think about this: that there are years between some of the verses. God very likely was silent in those between times. Hosea stayed faithful in the silence.
In the account of Abraham there were years between God's words to Him. The big promise God gave him took decades to happen. God promised Abraham when he was 75 years old that his descendants would be numerous. Abraham and Sarah had their son, Isaac, when Abraham was 100 years old. Do the math. That is 25 years he and Sarah had to wait.
Is God silent in your life right now?
Silence isn't a bad thing. God doesn't waste His words. He isn't chatty like we might wish He was.
Remain faithful in the silence. God is working. Believe it. And believe Him.
