What do you act on?
What is guiding your attitude about those areas you struggle with in your life?
Those areas in your life that make you feel lousy?
I can guarantee a couple of things: One, that voice you are listening to isn't speaking from truth. And two, that voice isn't God's.
God isn't into condemning you, letting the air out of your dreams, belittling you, making you feel worthless. Yes, God will point out sin but wanting us to turn away from sin allows us to be free from things that hurt us.
God loves you. He wants to encourage you to be your best. He wants to encourage you to live the best you can -- meaning His way (since He made you He knows you better than you know yourself and knows what will make you alive with joy and purpose).
There are a couple areas in my life where, if I am not centered in Christ, I condemn myself. And what I say about myself is kind-of-right but kind-of-right isn't the truth. Kind-of-right puts a negative spin on something that shouldn't define you -- but negative spin will make you think that is all you are.
If you find that that describes your attitude about yourself, then you are listening to the wrong voice.
Life is too short to listen to negative and condemning voices.
Life has too much purpose to waste it in this kind of place -- the condemning, negative place.
Proverbs 8 is a great proverb to read to understand God's voice.
Romans 8:1 says, "There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus."
