I read this this morning and it hit me differently than usual. Yes, John (the writer) is talking about the beginning of creation, but you can replace "the" with your name. Think about this! Let me give you an example with my life:
"In Jane's beginning was the Word. . . All things in Jane's life came into being by Him, and apart from Him nothing came into Jane's life that has come into Jane's life."
(Now, this isn't perfect because evil and sin which do enter everyone's life aren't through Jesus, but He does allow things, but let's just focus on who you are and your life in God.)
Wherever life takes you Jesus is already there waiting for you. Maybe you're dealing with a challenge of some sort, Jesus was there before the challenge began. Is there a bully in your life? Jesus is there too and will give you courage to right this wrong if you ask Him.
Are you anxious about your future? Jesus is already there. He is the Creator. He is also the Great Writer if you will. He writes your story. He gets all the details just right before you enter the next scene. Nothing gets by God. Nothing.
What about bad things you say? Bad things do happen, but when they happen God already has the way to right that wrong, already has the way to heal you and make you stronger, even better than before the tragedy.
If you grasp this thought, that God is already there, then there is no need to be afraid. He will stay by you. He will carry you. He makes provision for what you need.
Be bold today. Be strong. Be courageous. You gotta be courageous. If you aren't then your life will have a lot of "If only" moments. And oh, you don't want those kind of memories.
If you have some now, give them to God. He can do wonders with them! Anything we truly give Him He can transform. If you will -- He is the Great Alchemist! The alchemists were the first scientists. One of their big things was to try and turn a base metal into gold. They never found this secret. But God can. He can and will turn those parts of your life, of your past or your present that are worthless or painful into precious material that is worth much more than gold.
He's here. He's with you. Talk to Him.
