Just you following God and making right choices in your own life makes a difference in your world. Your life provides a protection to others because they are gonna experience God's grace along with you. Your life and how you live it will affect generations. God will honor you in the lives of your children and their children and so on.
Maybe you aren't seeing much progress in your world. Don't grow weary. God is working and You just being there is important.
God never forgets. He sees it all. He remembers.
When someone is tender toward my children I remember it. When people truly love my kids and enjoy them and look out for them, I don't forget ever.
God remembers much more than I do. He rewards those who seek Him and believe He is (that's in Hebrews 11:6).
Yesterday in church we had a great message from a visiting preacher, Fred MacDonald. He used Isaiah 58:1-12 as His text. He mentioned our homes being tools for God's work, our possessions, everything in our lives is meant to be at God's disposal to use for His work.
MacDonald said, we are called to "surrender to God in genuine repentance; touch the lives of the hurting where they are hurting; (and) engage the world with bold proclamation of the gospel."
If we do God's will His way, We will "receive God's blessing, . . . hear God's voice . . . experience freedom. . . (and) make a difference."
Something I wrote down was that I should be a mother to all like Deborah in the Old Testament.I should do no harm (like the doctor's oath). To be a mother to all is something I relate to. We have young people over at our house a lot. I love to feed them, listen to how they are; help them feel at home. Sometimes I push a bit too much with the food I think. I had food issues from fourth grade until probably I was 23. There were times I ate nothing for a long time, got too thin. Other times, even if I was eating, I would constantly think about what I could and could not eat. It was horrible. I was imprisoned in my own mind. When God was finally able to deliver me the freedom I experienced (and still do) was absolutely beautiful. I don't want anyone to go through that but I know many do. Eat disorders are rampant.....
(OK, I can hear my volunteer writing teacher [you know who you are] telling me I just went off track and what in the world am I doing???? He's great. He shall go unnamed until he has his website up and is coaching others.)
Once I heard James Robinson of LIFE TODAY ministries talk about a time in his life when he wasn't as faithful to God as his wife Betty was. God spoke to him and told him it was because of Betty's faithfulness that James was experiencing God's goodness. God was protecting Betty, and since James was married to her he too experienced the benefits of Betty's devotion to God.
This woke James up to what he needed to change in his life, but it also spoke to me when he shared it about others getting protection from God because of our faithfulness.
Any thoughts today?
