If you notice on the top of my page I've changed the name of my blog to Perfectly Blunt. This was the title of my weekly column that I wrote for about five years for The Capital Journal, published in Pierre, South Dakota; and later for the The Sidney Herald, published in Sidney, Montana.
My column was a lot different than my blog has been for a while. I purposely made them different due to not wanting to repeat myself. Plus, my blog had a different mission -- to share scriptures and thoughts about those scriptures with my readers to show that scripture is very relevant (and even necessary) for living in today's world.
I no longer have my column (at least not presently), and a very intelligent friend told me a few days ago he missed my personal writing, the stuff I put in my columns. He said my blog had gotten "preachy."
I sure don't want to be preachy. There's enough preaching in the world.
I want this column to touch your heart, to make your life better, to bring you closer to Christ if possible. He is the reason we live. He is what brings life to this life. He is who can help us see the humor in this life because sometimes (often in mine) life is absolutely ridiculous.
I haven't decided yet if how I've named this will take exactly as it is now, or if the photograph above will stay as it is. There will be changes for the next few weeks while I get into this new groove.
I so hope this new format will bless you and enrich your life; make you laugh and make you cry at times (those kind of tears are so precious).
We only have today as they say. Let's live it fully. Notice the smells, the sights, what you feel, what you remember. Revel in the moments and thank God for something right now.
I gotta go for now. Kids need to get going. They're having homemade apple sauce for breakfast, lovely stuff! But first I made them take their vitamins which they ate but I tell them it is their job to stay healthy all winter. If they don't they will not get any sympathy from their mama (oh, that must sound cruel -- I make them lay in bed all day when they are sick.....then they don't stay home just cause).
My youngest is wandering around looking for a brush (why does she think it will be hanging in the air). I better go.
