All of us can fall into a thorn patch. I have lately. Jesus called three things thorns: "the worries of the world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things" (Mark 4:19). These are the kinds of things that snag our souls and stop us from really living.
Not sure if you are in thorn patch?
Are you obsessing about something?
Worrying about something?
Troubled incessantly and weighed down by something?
You're very likely in a thorn patch. If you stay there long enough you might start thinking it is a normal place to live -- a place where you are constantly scratched and snagged and hurt and impeded. But that just isn't so. And if you're in a big thorn patch is might be blocking out the light and then it's dark too. You gotta get out of there. You must get to a place of freedom.
Cry out to Jesus. Just say His name. He's still there. He can clear away the thorns. He can show you the path out. He doesn't want you to live in the thorns.
"'Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.'" Matthew 11:28
