When in doubt, go for the music.
This Christmas Eve wherever you happen to be there will be a candlelight service somewhere. If for nothing else, go to hear the music. Go to sing the music.
Nothing compares to Christmas hymns. They are full of memory and meaning and anointing from the Spirit.
And you need to sing them yourself -- it doesn't matter how you sing. It doesn't matter if your voice sounds lovely or sounds like a gong. Your soul needs to sing these songs. Something happens to us (and it's a good thing) when we sing Christmas hymns.
Don't deprive yourself of this joy.
Even Elf agrees. He said in the movie, "The best way to spread Christmas cheer is to sing loud for all to hear."
Sing, sing, sing. Don't be timid. Sing it out. Sing "Silent Night." Sing "The First Noel." Sing "Hark the Herald Angels Sing." Sing "O Holy Night."
Let yourself have this blessing. Let yourself experience this anointing. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
