"they shall call His name Immanuel, which translated means, 'God with us.'" Matthew 1:23c
God is with us.
God traveled all the way from heaven by way of a womb to be with us, to be with us in our poverty, in our pain and in our sin. God is with us still.
Think -- if you have a friend who lives thousands of miles away and this friend says he will visit you. You know the ordeal it will take for him to get here but he does it anyway because he wants to be with you. That would mean so much. How much more does it mean when the Son of God forsakes a heavenly home, perfect and incredibly beautiful and total everything to be with us?
