God Himself says, "'For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Neither are your ways My ways . . . For as as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.'" Isaiah 55:8-9
Oswald Chambers writes, "Our spiritual life cannot be measured by success as the world measures it, but only by what God pours through us -- and we cannot measure that at all."
And I would take out "spiritual" in that statement because God doesn't separate the spiritual from the secular in us. That is a worldly way of compartmentalizing God and His Work in us. We are spiritual beings and so everything we do deals with our spiritual life.
Success might be many people's sacrifice on Mount Moriah. We talked about that yesterday. If you didn't read it, click here.
We aren't here on this earth for ourselves. We are here to do God's work. The amazing thing about this is that when we wholly put ourselves to doing God's will we often will find that we are truly joyful and enjoying life. He knows us better than we know ourselves, and He knows what will fulfill us. He created each person. So doesn't it make sense that He would put us where we would thrive under Him?
