Like many people I've had good and bad, peaceful and stressful days this summer. I am waiting for conclusion to some of our situations and I know I will see it and experience this conclusion soon. How will it happen? Not sure yet.
None of it is a surprise to God. Your life isn't a surprise to Him either. He's not worried. He's not wringing His hands even if you've messed up big time. You can't and I can't mess up His plan. He can always make things work out well for those who hold tight to Him. It may not be how we envisioned it but that's okay. His ways are always good ones.
That being said I will share what I wrote in my journal yesterday. I write prayers. I write life details. I write down quotes that speak to me. It might seem a bit scattered but it all spoke to me somehow:
Thank you Lord for getting me through yesterday. Thank you for ______'s kindness, for __________'s kindness, for ____'s & __________________'s prayers. Lord God, You are good.
"As you trust in Me, I make your feet like the feet of a deer. I enable you to walk and make progress upon your high places of trouble, suffering, or responsibility." (Jesus Calling by Sarah Young)
"All your morality and all your religion, it's all just a way to get God to give you the things you really want, and they are not God Himself." Timothy Keller
Prayer -- a time to be with Father God. Do I pray to spend time with Father or do I pray to ask Him for stuff?
What if I never had another "yes" in prayer? Would I still rest in God's presence? It isn't about stuff with God. He isn't withholding "stuff" because He is stingy. He'll give us (anything) if it will honor Him and fulfill His purposes in our lives and through our lives. He has a plan. And He loves me so much. He knows it's hard right now. He knows my need for a conclusion to all of this. The conclusion is coming!
"For the vision is yet for the appointed time; It hastens toward the goal, and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it; For it will certainly come, it will not delay." Habakkuk 2:3
"Great is the Lord, and abundant in strength; His understanding is infinite. The LORD supports the afflicted" from Psalm 147
Praise you Lord. You are encouraging me with Your Word. All this will end soon. You are in Charge!
