"And the dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she gave birth he might devour the child." Revelation 12:4b
This Christmas, more than any other Christmas in recent years, our country is hurting and needs a Savior. People need the hope that a baby brought to this earth so long ago.
That is still for us. He is still for us. He is on our side. He wants to be there for you.
Sometimes God's protection and plan is found in obscurity and poverty and in things that the world and the enemy look down on. That is what the enemy doesn't get. That is what the world doesn't get about Jesus. Those who aren't God's and who reject Him, think God will act like them.
He doesn't.
"God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things that are strong." 1 Corinthians 1:27
Here is Jesus' very own words:
"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the gentle, for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when men cast insults at you, and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, on account of Me. Rejoice, and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you." Matthew 5:3-12
Celebrate Christmas. Celebrate with gifts and food and drink and love. Celebrate it all. Enjoy each other. Enjoy Jesus. Oh boy, when you really let Jesus into your life, wow -- the adventure begins!
