To drink a cup of ginger tea, I told him.
I've been sick since last Saturday and though I am trying to get better it is a slow process. I take methotrexate, an immune suppressant drug for RA. So, when I get sick it takes longer for me to heal.
And I wonder, if we can be allowing something in our lives that will suppress our spiritual immune system?
Our immune system is what keeps us healthy and is what fights off the bad stuff when we get into contact with it. God has given each of us 50 billion white blood cells to fight for us. They just stand by until they are needed. Quite cool.
So, what about spiritually? What can we do to be ready for the bad junk that will enter our lives?
We can work on deepening our spiritual roots through Bible study, prayer, fellowship with other Believers and thankfulness.
It's important because bad stuff will come into everyone's lives.
Jesus says in John 15:4, "Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you, unless you abide in Me."
If we make that our practice daily our spiritual immune system will be strong.
