There are things in our inheritance all Believers receive from God (like Salvation), but God sees each of His children as individuals. He knows what makes us hurt, what makes us joyful, what makes our hearts beat fast with passion.
Years ago there was a Home Improvement Episode where Jill's mother was visiting. She was talking about what she was going to leave her girls in her will. Jill really wanted the tea set but her mother had decided to give that to her other daughter. Jill was hurt thinking her mom just didn't understand her. Instead, her mother had willed to Jill a clock. Jill had no clue why and thought it was just another indicator of her mom not understanding her at all.
Then, her mom explained to her why she was giving her the clock. Her reasons melted Jill's heart, showed Jill something about her relationship with her mom she had not realized was there, gave her a new vision of her relationship with her mom.
God has an inheritance for each of us He wants to really give us. He longs to give us what He has for us because it gives Him so much joy. The things He has chosen for us are absolutely perfect for us. They will reveal to us individually things about God we might not know right now and things about who He created us to be. The things God wants to give you are indentifiers of who you truly are in Him.
Plus, they are things He can use to touch others through you. What a privilege!
If you go further into the next chapter in Joshua, we find out there were two things that were keeping some of God's children from their inheritance: the enemy and fear.
This is the same for us. The enemy and fear will keep our inheritance from us if we let them. We have to remember who we are and Whose we are.
