So, as we travelled to Eagle Butte to pick something up we talked about every girl in his class. And he ended up deciding there was only one other girl he could ask.
Why?
Because she's the only one who is shorter than him.
He told me he planned on wearing a t-shirt and jeans and I told him no way. We were going to get him a groovy outfit kind of like the one in the picture on the left.
I admit that I'm not really excited about the prom. I get kind of tired thinking about my kids' school activities. Part of it is that I already had two kids go through high school and proms. The other part is that I'm 48 and would rather just sit on the couch and read and drink coffee.
It's humbling. No matter how hard we try to be great parents, we will fall short in some area.
Thankfully our Father in heaven is the Perfect Parent. He never grows weary. He never gets tired of the stuff we find important. He even enters into it with us. He encourages us. He roots for us. He guides us. He loves when we enjoy the blessings He brings into our lives.
"Every good thing bestowed and every perfect gift is from above, coming don the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation, or shifting shadow." James 1:17
