On my place, they all coexist. I don't know how it happened, but my cats who often take down birds know to stay away from my hens. And my dogs know to not chase my cats or my hens. They have an understanding.
And if hens and cats and dogs can coexist peacefully, how much more so can we humans with those who we disagree?
Romans 5:1b says, "we have peace with God thorugh our Lord Jesus Christ."
In the book The World Jesus Knew: Beliefs & customs from the time of Jesus Author Anne Punton writes, "Unity of purpose, agreement of principle, differences reconciled and common direction bring wholeness to relationships and to the inner being. This is peace. It is not dependent on everything being in order or to one's liking. It functions in spite of adversity and, from its own unimpaired base of security, can confront and change circumstances."
I'm blessed, so very blessed.
You're blessed too.
This doesn't mean everything in our lives is hunky-dory. This doesn't mean we don't have problems. It just means we know God is bigger than those problems and we find our strength in Christ. We don't let our problems, our situations (good or bad) define us.
We are defined by Christ Jesus.
And we can rest in Him enjoying the blessings of today.
