So, I often have said, "I hate my brain, I hate my brain, I hate my brain."
Every time I've done this I knew it wasn't pleasing to God. He made it. He created it just the way it is, with all its weakness and strength, with its creativity and zaniness. So, I try to say, I don't hate it, but I would still think, but I wish it weren't so darn weak.
I read something today that hit me in a great way. It is from Sarah Young's Jesus Calling devotional (which is great by the way). This is what she writes:
The human mind is the pinnacle of (God's) creation, but so few use it for its primary purpose -- knowing (Him).
Profound! I love it!!
OK, here's the question for today: is there a part of you you routinely despise?
If there isn't great!
But if there is, think about that part of you and then read this verse:
I will give thanks to Thee, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Thy works, And my soul knows it very well. Psalm 139:14
That part of you that you despise was made specifically by God for a great purpose.
What that purpose is, God knows -- and if you ask Him He'll let you know too.
