God isn't going to pass you by. If God has plans to use you in a special way He isn't going to change those plans because your days are filled with needs of your loved ones (your faithfulness to those duties might be the reason He has chosen you for the task).
In Numbers 11 the Israelite people are complaining about the food God is providing them. And Moses is sick of it. The burden of the people is getting too much for him. He even asks God if it isn't going to get better to just kill him and put him out of his misery (that's in Numbers 11:15).
God has a different plan. He tells Moses to gather 70 guys from the elders of Israel "whom you know to be elders of the people" (Numbers 11:16) and God will put some of His Spirit on these guys to share the load with Moses.
So the guys gather, but two of the men who are signed up can't make it. Their names are Eldad and Medad (and their reasons for not attending must have been good ones because God doesn't forget them).
Once the guys are gathered "the LORD cam down in the cloud . . . and He took of the Spirit who was upon (Moses) and placed Him upon the 70 elders. And it came about that when the Spirit rested upon them, they prophesied." Numbers 11:25
Eldad and Medad got the Spirit too and verse 26 says "they prophesized in the camp."
Maybe Eldad and Medad couldn't come because they were sick or maybe their families had emergencies or something. It wasn't out of rebellion they didn't show up because God wouldn't have honored that. Whatever the reason God came down to them too even though they weren't with the others.
I admit that there have been days upon days where my routine is the same with Hawken. Days are filled with changing him and feeding him and reading to him and placing him in his chair, then on the floor, then on the couch and then back to his bed (over and over). A person can feel like she/he is forgotten.
But we're never forgotten by God. He sees us. He is using us right where we're at. And when He chooses us to do something out of the ordinary, it will happen. It will happen in God's time. We just have to stay faithful to the tasks we have today. They are important, eternally important if given to us by God.
