Please choose wisely.
Exodus 34:6-7 says, "GOD passed in front of him (Moses) and called out, 'GOD, GOD, a God of mercy and grace, endlessly patient -- so much love, so deeply true -- loyal in love for a thousand generations, forgiving iniquity, rebellion and sin. Still, he doesn't ignore sin. He holds sons and grandsons responsible for a father's sins to the third and fourth generation.'"
Do you see that phrase I underlined?
If we choose to love God and love people in all we say and do and think we will be blessings the generations that come after us, from our children on down. What a promise!
The last part though is scary: for four generations the consequences of our sin will be felt. Our children, our grandchildren, our great and our great-great grandchildren will have to deal with our sin's consequences. No one would purposely choose to do this to those we love, but we do when we live for Self. Think of sin that has passed down in your family -- wrong perspectives on life; habits that control; learned behaviors and thoughts that must be unlearned to be free in Christ.
Choose Jesus today. Choose His ways. Choose to love even when you are misunderstood or overlooked.
