Yesterday I found we have three colors of lilacs -- white, lavender and a brighter lavender. Love, love, love!
Do we notice all the creative ways God has blessed us in this earth? He didn't have to make different shades, different colors of anything. But He did! He made people all different shades -- even if our skin is the same color as someone else's there is still a slight difference. And then there are flowers and grasses and trees and horses and vegetables (and on and on and on) -- rainbows and rainbows of colors.
This week I've sat outside a lot with my son Hawk. Sometimes I just look at the green of the grass. I soak that green in. Green is healing. I know it is. And then I look at the blue sky. I feel that cool breeze. I hear the horses neigh. I listen to them munching, swishing their tails, asking for treats. I listen to birds talk and leaves rustle; watch hawks fly overhead and bugs fly past. I get lost in God's beauty.
Have you gotten lost in something lately? Somehow getting lost in something through sheer enjoyment of it helps you get centered and back to being yourself with no frills and no pretensions. Just you. Just how God created you to be.
Today, use all your senses: touch, sight, sound, smell, taste -- enjoy them all. Savor what you experience through them. They are a gift.
"For a day in Thy courts is better than a thousand outside . . . For the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD gives grace and glory; No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly. O LORD of hosts, How blessed is the man who trusts in Thee!" Psalm 84:10-12
