Read that again. This is part of the fantastic world, fantasy come true! This is why I love fairy tales and all that goes with them. God has given us our imaginations to use. He wants us to get them fine-tuned and strong! Stories and fantasy stories, fairy tales, these things aren't a waste of time. They build up our imaginations.
Children know the difference between the real world and fantasy. The only "danger" with fairy tales is that their brains will start imagining new worlds. Okay, i guess they could daydream in class but sometimes that isn't all bad.
This whole chapter in Hebrews is amazing. If you read further, verse 23 says, "Therefore it was necessary for the copies of the things in the heavens to be cleansed with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these."
The things the writer is referring to are mentioned previously. They include: a book, people, the tabernacle, all the holy vessels used with the sacrifices.
It makes me think of the ancient philosopher Plato and his theory of forms. He felt everything in this world was a copy of a perfect form in the unseen realm. Maybe he was right? The Hebrews writer sure sounds like he or she is agreeing with him.
Maybe I'm on a crazy tangent this morning, but oh, it is the kind that makes my soul sing.
