We all have a gift that often goes unused by many of us because of many reasons: laziness, fear, comfort. And we probably don't even see it as a gift. The gift I am talking about is local people (including yourself for other people).
This morning I spent 3+ hours at a local Dupree, SD business while my Suburban got worked on. While there I talked to all sorts of people -- some of the wonderful people who work at this business; plus, customers who came and went while I was there. When we get to engage in conversation with others and share smiles and laughs we can truly see what a gift people are to us.
We were made to be part of community. When we deny ourselves time with others, we deny ourselves and them something we truly need -- each other. Everywhere we go we can build community: church, town, the grocery store, local businesses; the library (if you have one); the post office -- anywhere we come into contact with other people. -- community connections can be fostered.
The world needs you! We need each other -- now, more than ever.
