Here's a question for you: when have you felt truly satisfied? What was going on? Where were you? Who were you with?
Beth Moore writes,
Consider how that experience of satisfaction felt. Then multiply it a thousand times and imagine experiencing such desire, delight, and fulfillment in God's presence. He intends all that and more for you.
"Do you see the connection between captivity and a lack of satisfaction in Christ? We can easily be led into captivity by seeking other answers to needs and desires only God can meet.
Many will seek salvation from Christ but then seek life satisfaction in other places. If we do that, we will not be satisfied.
One more Moore quote for you:
Soul satisfaction ensures abundant life on earth.
Are you striving for something? Are you spending your energy on getting ahead in this world? Are you spending your time, energy and resources in order to gain approval from others? Power? Prestige?
None of this will ultimately satisfy.
You can experience total soul satisfaction if you want to -- it only comes through a deeply present, ongoing relationship with Jesus. He's closer to you than your own breath. When that is your reality in your heart, you will have what so many seek but cannot find.
