I'm reading a book right now in which the author states that wrong living comes out of wrong thinking. If we think right, we'll live right. Right thinking equals right living, he states.
I agree. The Bible in Proverbs 23:7a says "as he thinks within himself so he is."
This author further goes on to say that condemnation is the root of much if not all of our wrong thinking. Somewhere inside ourselves, if we are having great trouble in life, if we have a lot of stress or other negative stuff, if we look deep enough we might be thinking we deserve it.
I am not sure if this is true all the time, but I believe it is true some of the time.
Condemnation kills, quenches the life right out of a person.
The moment I really began to write in college, the moment I began to be a writer, was when a professor told me to "just write Jane."
I wanted so badly to write, but when I would it was so forced, stilted.
But, when he said those three words to me I realized I had been judging every word I wrote down. Nothing could flow.
When I quit criticizing myself I was able let the words come out.
Maybe this can apply to other situations in my life, maybe in yours too.
Do you have problems in relationships? Maybe you don't think you're lovable enough for one.
Do you have problems with finances? Maybe you think you deserve to struggle, feel the struggle is all you should get out of life because of the mistakes you've made.
I don't know if any of that could be true for you or me, but it is something to ponder.
God is bigger than anything else in the world. If He is for you, who or what can truly be against you.
God is on our side.
That means we win!
