It's easy to forget what Jesus said.
It's also easy to remember -- just back to the Scriptures.
I was reading about what Jesus said the Kingdom of Heaven is like. He compared it to five things. Check the verses out here:
Luke 1:18
Luke 13:21
Matthew 13:44
Matthew 13:45
Matthew 13:47
Click on the verses and you can read them. The things Jesus said the Kingdom of Heaven is like are tiny things, insignificant things; common things. Each begins with an ordinary, common every day object/subject which gets put in a place that we cannot see. And in that place that is unseen the real work begins. It grows in the dark. It grows in the unknown place. If we would try to uncover it we would mess it up. Maybe even kill that little thing -- A tiny seed, a fishing drag net; yeast, a person on a treasure hunt and hidden treasure.
Think of all these examples -- if we throw doubt at them, if we try to manipulate them, we will mess it all up.
Oswald Chambers writes, "Living a life of faith means never knowing where you are being led. But it does mean lovin and knowing the One who is leading. It is literally a life of faith, not of understanding and reason -- a life of knowing Him who calls us to go. Faith is rooted in the knowledge of a Person, and one of the biggest traps we fall into is the belief that if we have faith, God will surely lead us to success in the world."
