Neither are your ways My ways," declares the LORD.
If you are familiar with Scripture, this verse is probably familiar. I don't know how many times I've read it and thought I understood it. God isn't like us. We aren't like God.
But I think it goes so much deeper than we can fathom. To the core, in every single cell, every atom, every electron within us, we are not like God.
What we think is important, what we want out of life, everything, our perspective, everything about us has to be turned inside out to start thinking like God.
And the process continues throughout our lives. It never can stop if it is going to get deeper into us. We can so easily begin thinking with our flesh rather than our spirits.
I have a notion, a subject I've been pondering for the last few weeks that I'm finally getting some understanding of. The truth was there all the time. God doesn't change, but it takes time for us to catch up with Him.
If there is something in your life you cannot change and it frustrates you, ask God to see it as He does. There very likely is a deeper meaning, a deeper work of God going on. And when you understand you will be changed -- and you won't mind anymore.
