Our future is our future.
But sometimes past and future can live in the present. Actually, it often does.
We worry about the future. Worry affects our present -- giving us stress, taking away sleep, hindering us from enjoying the present.
We continue to hurt from the past. We remember when people have wronged us. And when we do this, if we haven't been healed from it, we again are hurt.
It doesn't have to be this way.
If you've been hurt you can be healed from it -- even if the hurt is decades old.
Even if it was a lifetime ago.
Even if the person who hurt is long gone.
God can heal.
And He will if you let Him into that secret part of your life that keeps hurting you.
He was there when it happened. He knows why you hurt.
He loves you.
And He wants you to let that love of His to heal that wound of yours.
Love and forgiveness go hand in hand.
How do you get this inner healing?
Go to Him in prayer. Tell Him why you hurt. Speak it aloud or write it out - -however you best communicate. Be totally honest. Don't leave anything out.
Once that is done then ask Him to heal you. Give Him time. When He brings something to mind, do it. If you haven't forgiven the one who hurt you that will be something He tells you to do. But even after forgiveness there will be hurt that He will bandage up and pour His healing oil upon.
You cannot be fully yourself if you aren't whole within.
"Come to Me,all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and YOU SHALL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. For My yoke is easy, and My load is light." Matthew 11:28-30
