I have so many loved ones who refuse to take the help God offers.
It makes so sad.
Why do people refuse God's help?
Maybe some are finding identity in their stress, a sense of importance. Society teaches that if we are stressed to the max we must be doing something important.
That kind of logic slowly kills us, keeps us from facing truth and resting in Jesus and enjoying life.
So many go from crisis to crisis finding meaning in the adrenalin coursing through their veins to deal with their stressful situations.
God will take your burden and give you strength to deal with whatever comes your way.
Jesus tells us in Matthew 11:28-30, "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and YOU SHALL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. For My yoke is easy, and My load is light."
I think sometimes people read that and think Jesus is talking about giving them a boring mundane quiet life that is non-eventful, filled with dos and don'ts, and maybe filled with a lot of sitting around and sleeping...
No! No! No!
Jesus wants to use us to move mountains, do miracles, see lives changed, form real connections with others -- the kind of connections that get right to reality of the soul, the kind that will make you joyfully laugh and cry and feel alive.
Everything society can give us deadens us inside.
Please don't choose this way. Please. If you have, you're breaking my heart. You're breaking God's heart. Please, choose God's way. It is so much better.
