What will the thief steal from you?
Anything you don't guard: your time, money, peace, joy, contentment, your family, your purpose, direction, talents, skills.
The thief will steal anything he can.
Are you letting him?
This morning I did. I let that thief, the enemy steal my contentment. I was focused on numbers rather than God's generosity, mery and grace.Thankfully I read this verse and I was reminded about what really matters.
If we aren't experiencing life in Christ we are letting the thief steal something from us.
Don't let him steal anything. Nothing.
"and you are unwilling to come to Me, that you may have life." John 5:40
Before we give the enemy too much credit, often it is just the human failing part of you that steals it from yourself. You worry -- that steals your peace. You try to control others -- that takes your eyes off God.
Kick the thief out, whichever one it is (the devil, your flesh, the world's system). Listen to the Shepherd of our Souls. Follow Him and only listen to Him.
