The Old Testament is primarily the story of the Jewish People and their relationship with God. If you read it you will find out how humans were created, how people began to interact with God and learn to live a spiritual life. Well, there's all sorts you will learn.
But what I want to highlight today is found in Deuteronomy 2. Deuteronomy is Moses speaking to the Israelites about their history and all that has happened, how God has led them and what it all means spiritually. In Chapter 2 though Moses mentions three different people groups that God told the Israelites not to touch or take from because He had given them their land.
There's the people descended from Esau (verse 5).
There's the people descended from the sons of Lot, the Moabites (verse 9).
There is the sons of Ammon (verse 19).
These people groups were blessed by God like the Israelites. God had given them their own land (you could call it their promised land).
What I think will be one of the cool things in heaven is to hear everyone's stories of how God provided for them, how God blessed them, how God was victorious in their lives.
Wait a second - -that can happen now in a small way. That is what we Believers are supposed to do with each other -- tell our stories. And these stories can be told to those who don't know God yet either because then, maybe they will want to meet Him when they see how good God is to us.
