All summer I've been hearing the mourning doves call. Yesterday I realized doves can trigger me to remember the Holy Spirit.
"and the Holy Spirit descended upon Him in bodily form like a dove" Luke 3:22a
1 Thessalonians 5:17 says, "pray without ceasing;"
We can do this by keeping God in our present, in every moment we breathe. We don't have to be talking to Him to be praying. If we remember He is there and let Him be a part of our present moments, that is prayer. Communication is more than talking and listening. It is also living alongside someone. We communicate with those around us with everything we do and don't do; with our attitudes and our thoughts. We do this same thing with God.
People can be the trigger to think about Jesus. Jesus is 100% God, 100% human. One day we will be able to hug Jesus! One day we will be able to look straight into His eyes. When we do this with another human, we are loving Jesus.
"to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine (Jesus), even the least of them, you did it to Me."
Matthew 25:40c
As I wrote a couple of days ago, loving God and others is our purpose (you can read that here). Remembering God, thinking of Him, thinking of others; praying, loving with everything we have, that is a very good thing.
