Let's not miss what Sodom's sin was in all the political rhetoric. Let's not point fingers and tell ourselves we are better than others because we very well may be guilty of Sodom's sin. MIsinterpretation does not give us an excuse.
What is promoted in the media? Arrogance, Abundant food and Careless Ease! We are making ourselves want this filth by encouraging it. What do some want? They want to be famous -- get rich off just being known. Then they can just have fun and not work.
Work is a blessing not a curse. When we promote ease we are not promoting God's ways.
Jesus mentions the sin of Sodom too in Matthew 25. Here's one verse from it:
"Then He will answer them, saying, 'Truly, I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.'" Matthew 25:45
Then He tells them to depart from Him. He doesn't know them.
God's heart is with the poor and the weak. God's heart is with those who are forgotten and not noticed, cast aside. God's heart is with those people who don't seem to have any importance -- those people you know who cannot help you "get ahead."
Are we concerned with what God is concerned with?
Are we wasting time pointing fingers when we should have open hands?
People are hurting. People are dying. People are dying without Jesus.
"Now the men of Sodom were wicked exceedingly and sinners against the LORD." Genesis 13:13
Again, what was their sin?
"Arrogance, abundant food, and careless ease, (and) she did not help the poor and needy."
