"the most important place in the Christian life is the place of God's choice, the place He's prepared for us and prepared us to fill. The important thing isn't status but faithfulness, doing the work God wants us to do."
"'The issue is gratitude versus pride.'"
"your role is important. By accepting God's call until He opens new doors, you will learn contentment and find that your significance comes from Him alone."
All the above quotes are from the bible study by Melissa Spoelstra entitled Numbers: Learning Contentment in a Culture of More.
These quotes really spoke to me. I find there are times I wake up in the morning not excited about the day that's ahead of me. Not wanting to change another diaper. Not wanting to give another bath. Not wanting to lift and transfer my son over and over. Not wanting to do the driving that seems to come with having teenagers. Yet, these are all things ordained by God in this season of life. Truly, I love my life, but at times I am not content. I have to get back to gratitude for all the very important tasks I do.
What you do is important too. We each have roles to fill that affect more people than we realize. And if we do those tasks for Jesus Christ, those people might be affected for eternity in powerful ways.
