You know -- the ones that are suddenly taking up brain space.
You're doing what you always do and a song pops into your mind. And you find yourself singing it over and over.
(Those songs that pop into our heads probably say something about us personally. That would be an interesting study -- let's go on. I love to research but I get crazy about it.)
This morning I read this verse:
"So be careful how you live. Don't live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. Don't act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do." Ephesians 5:15-17
It must have been those first three words, "So be careful."
My brain started singing, "So be careful little eyes what you see. Be careful little eyes what you see. The Father up above is looking down in love. So be careful little eyes what you see."
The song is a Sunday School song usually only sung by kids. I picture the three monkeys: See no evil, hear no evil, say no evil.
Maybe we adults should sing it in church. It is a good reminder of what we ought consider daily -- what are we letting our eyes see, our ears hear, our hands do, our feet go; and our mouths speak.
O Be Careful, Little Eyes
O be careful little eyes what you see
O be careful little eyes what you see
There's a Father up above
And He's looking down in love
So, be careful little eyes what you see
O be careful little ears what you hear
O be careful little ears what you hear
There's a Father up above
And He's looking down in love
So, be careful little ears what you hear
O be careful little hands what you do
O be careful little hands what you do
There's a Father up above
And He's looking down in love
So, be careful little hands what you do
O be careful little feet where you go
O be careful little feet where you go
There's a Father up above
And He's looking down in love
So, be careful little feet where you go
O be careful little mouth what you say
O be careful little mouth what you say
There's a Father up above
And He's looking down in love
So, be careful little mouth what you say
