I read this this morning after reading a devotional by Anne Graham Lotz sent to me by a friend. It was about walking through the door God has opened for you no matter how timid you feel, no matter what the results will probably be.....
When we do this, we will be fulfilled.
I just got back from a visit to Illinois (the Quad Cities area) and I was very much blessed. There are some situations that are heart-breaking but I now know how to pray. And I will. Prayer is our most powerful weapon. Diligent prayer moves mountains.
When I got home last night there were four letters for me from Indiana. Shannon, my husband, thought they were from children. They were letters for me from publications that I had submitted too (the handwriting was mine because they were SASEs (self-addressed stamped envelopes) I had enclosed with my submissions.
EVERYONE WAS REJECTED!
I was kind of bummed, but I know they're good. I just have to find the right publication. I will send them out again this week. When I read the verse from Psalm 128 I felt this applied to my children's writing. I WILL eat of the fruit of my hands. So, I will persist.
On the first Wednesday in December, the first meeting of The BBC will happen. The BBC is The Blunt Bible Club for elementary students. I have felt like this needs to happen for a long time. I and my unofficial advisory board (my children and their friends) have been praying for a while for it. God has given me rapport with the elementary students at our school. And they know Jesus is part of my life. So, we are going to combine all this and see what happens. I have a few helpers. A puppet will be involved. We are starting with Jesus' birth.....May God be glorified.
Anita Mathias of Dreaming Beneath the Spires tweeted on Twitter this morning, "This is the irrational season When love blooms bright and wild. Had Mary been filled with reason There’d have been no room for the child."
That is beautiful and so wise!
Take a leap this season. Be irrational. It can be scary but it can be so fulfilling!
