God's kids are supposed to thrive. God gives us everything we need to thrive (or prosper). He wants us to grow in every area of life.
If we aren't growing it isn't because God is lacking.
If we are stunted in some area, it isn't because God isn't providing.
The root cause of the lack is in us somewhere.
This doesn't mean we are consciously doing something "wrong."
It just means we need to ask God for His wisdom and His grace in the areas of life that we have such trouble with.
Often, the lack might be solved by us just looking at Jesus Christ and seeing all we have already.
"Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they shall be granted you." Mark 11:24
If that scripture isn't fulfilled in our lives, then God wants us to dig deeper.
"Be dressed in readiness, and keep your lamps alight." Luke 12:35
And it also may mean that God wants us to hold tight to Him and let Him work. If we cling to Him, if we give Him permission to work everywhere inside us and everywhere outside of us, we will thrive.
We will thrive no matter what goes on around us.
We will thrive no matter what enters our lives.
We will thrive no matter what the enemy intends for us.
"Jesus said to them, 'I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me shall not hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.'" John 6:35
